![]() | This is the road-dominating ZZ4 crate engine! This engine came from Everette Chevrolet in Washington D.C., United States to Nagoya airport, Japan. The day I first saw this engine, I was sooo excited that I could hardly sleep at night like a child. |
![]() | This is the engine room of my 81 with the ZZ4 above picture installed. The engine driven fan is discarded. There are two electric fans behind of a radiator. Two stainless meshed hoses appeared at left side of the engine room are for a oil cooler which is installed in front of a radiator. |
![]() | Because the original AC Delco radiator was under bad condition, it was replaced to NipponDenso's which was originally made for Toyota Soarer(maybe "Lexus Soarer" in the US) . The new radiator is working very well. The water temparature is always controlled well by two electric fans which originally made for Toyota Ipsum. |
![]() | The alternator which is originally made for Toyota Cars(maybe for Toyota Windom) by Nippon Denso is installed with some modification instead of a Delco remanufactured alternator because I've been a little boring to frequently wrecking AC Delco remanufactured ones. Now, it seems to be working very well. The Nippon Denso alternators always generates electricity strong and stable. |
![]() | As I wanted to install the oilcooler, I needed to relocate the engine oil filter. The oil filter was relocated to a restricted area behind of LF fender skirt. The relocater/oil separator is made by HKS(HKS is very famous here in Japan for its high performance parts) and, now, here the Toyota brand oil filter sits on a Corvette! When the oil temparature reaches high enough to open a thermo switch inside the relocater, oil flows to the oil cooler. |
